SPARTAN ACADEMY

A non-profit training academy dedicated to developing boys into confident & productive men. We believe men aren't born, they are built through a process.

Spartan Academy can provide the required documentation for the Florida PEP (Step Up Scholarship) to support reimbursement of program fees. Please note that families are responsible for submitting this documentation and completing the reimbursement process independently.

1) In person classes will teach discipline, self-control, distress tolerance, and confidence.

2)Students will receive hands on Anti-Bully self-defense instruction (Grappling, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing) 

3)After physical training your boy will receive 10-15 minutes of teaching (ie… Emotional control, Confidence, Honor, Self-Respect, Mental toughness, Conflict Resolution, Chivalry, Courage, etc)

4)The final 5 to 10 minutes will focus on teaching boys to articulate themselves and develop skills for speaking in public. We will teach your son how to overcome performance anxiety. Paying careful attention to eye contact, tone, facial expression, rate of speech, story arc, and command presence. Multiple training sessions a week will be available. Total session length (1.5 hours).

5)Expect Paramilitary style challenges on the beach and in the woods as we grow.

*Participants may wear normal athletic clothes to class (Shorts, t-shirt)

*No zippers allowed on clothing (It can cut other participants during grappling)

*Students are expected to:

• Wear clean clothing

• Keep nails trimmed and clean

• Maintain good overall personal hygiene, including the use of deodorant as appropriate

Parents are responsible for ensuring their child arrives prepared in this manner.

If a student’s hygiene is found to be unacceptable, staff will address the issue directly and privately with the student. Repeated concerns will be communicated to parents.

We don't just teach self defense, we specialize in masculine development. We teach boys to speak with clarity and confidence, we coach boys in chivalry, critical thinking, emotional control, and relationships skills. We understand 1 in 4 American homes are without a father so we are passionate about giving boys the male modeling they need. Our program is lead by Jonathan Rios, a licensed psychotherapist with over 20+ years working in the men's mental health space.

• He will learn how to respond to and resolve conflict
• Increased physical fitness and mental well being
• Improved peer to peer relationship skills
• The ability to identify and release emotions
• School detentions/suspensions reduced and/or eliminated
• Improved relationship and social/emotional behavior with parents, teachers, and peers
• The skills to defend himself and the confidence to walk away from a fight (if possible)
• Greater sense of God’s purpose for his life and his community responsibility
